CMS

[noun] The abbreviation for content management system. Web design software that functions as an interface for the purpose of creating and managing website content. With it, one can create, edit and maintain web material such as HTML documents and images without necessarily knowing anything about the website programming languages.

This allows the site owner to make smaller changes and updates to their website without the continuous expense of having to hire a web designer for every little change needed.
